The 8th stage of our soul conscious journey resurrects our consciousness of prana. The Pranic Body gives life to the physical body and through our breath it continuously connects us to the life force of the infinite whilst distributing that energy into our systems and throughout the finite aspects of our being. This allows us to feel fearless, fully alive and at one with all creation. Throughout life we breathe; oxygen is the fuel burned by the cells but prana is the fuel burned by the life force that constructs those cells. Therefore the source of prana is infinite but our capacity to access it is finite.
Initially we are more easily aware of the strong relationship between the Pranic Body and our more physical aspects, which may quickly develop to include our mind. However prana penetrates through all our bodies and is a strong, powerful resource that builds in accessibility and understanding as our awareness and use of the Pranic Body expands. Experientially it communicates mostly with the mind and lungs enhancing health through control of the breath. Therefore a yogi lengthens his/her life by breathing more slowly and this relationship has been used for thousands of years to manage pain, relieve stress and cure illness.
If the 8th body is weak we may have constant low-level anxiety and/or chronic fatigue. We may try to get energy from food or stimulants or be fearful and defensive. However when the Pranic Body is strong our breathing is deep and relaxed, nothing can bother us. We are self-motivated and have enough energy to achieve our goals. As we master prana, we begin to master life.
